Our Story

Mission Ready Farms started with a simple idea: people need purpose, and sometimes the best way to find it is by working with your hands.

After my second combat deployment as a frontline infantryman, I came home feeling lost. I didn’t have a clear direction, and I struggled with PTSD and depression. I know now that a lot of veterans go through that, even if they don’t always say it out loud.

What changed things for me was farming.

There’s something about working with the soil that grounds you. It gave me structure again. It gave me something real to focus on. Over time, I started to feel like I was part of something again, something bigger than just myself.

Mission Ready Farms was built out of that experience.

What We Do

We are building a small farm where veterans and active duty service members can come to learn, work, and reconnect.

On the farm, we provide hands-on training in sustainable agriculture. That includes growing food, maintaining systems, and learning practical skills that can carry over into everyday life or even future careers.

But this isn’t just about farming.

It’s about creating a place where people can show up, be part of something, and move forward.

The food we grow is shared directly with military families in our community. In that way, the same people learning and working on the farm are also helping support others.

Why It Matters

A lot of veterans leave the military with discipline, leadership, and experience, but without a clear next step. At the same time, many military families are struggling with the cost of living and access to fresh food.

Mission Ready Farms brings those two realities together.

We believe that:

• community matters

• and having something real to work toward matters

This farm is a place where those things come together.

Looking Ahead

Right now, we are building from the ground up on private land. The goal is to create something that lasts and grows over time.

As we continue to develop, we plan to expand our reach, serve more veterans, and increase the amount of food we provide to military families.

This is just the beginning.
